Going back to blogging!

Wednesday, March 10, 2010

Well, after listening to one of my best friends Allison talking today at lunch how she enjoyed going back to a previous blog and relieving a memory today, it made me realize that I truly need to start documenting my life again via a blog. Just a taste....going to try to commit every am.....enjoy!

First Week of Kindergarten

Wednesday, August 26, 2009

Well this is the norm.....I told Colton to eat all of his breakfast.....and he did it all at one time! Typical Colton fashion!!

So cute in his little glasses!!!!
Well, the first day of school came and went. It was very exciting and nerve racking to have him go all day. Anytime there is a routine change in Colton's world it presents some challenges. He is adjusting well overall. The first day, his report stated that he had a rough afternoon. I was concerned how he was going to adjust to not having a nap during the day. They did a 15 minute rest time and he naturally crashed out! He proved to be somewhat challenging after he was woke up. Surprise, Surprise!!! The last two days he has gotten a significantly longer nap session.....2 hrs each day. Initially, I was thinking he was just napping through recess and rest time. Now after reviewing their daily schedule I see that he is missing most of his inclusion time with the regular kindergarten class because he is sleeping! That is a concern for me. I am going to address it in the morning when I drop him off. I am not quite sure what the teacher's game plan is. It might just be for this week and they are working out a system that will let him nap longer and still be included in the regular classroom environment. I hope!!! The point of the inclusion is to include him in a traditional classroom setting. Not let him sleep in the classroom setting! I can already tell that this is going to be a fun year!!!!

GEEEE WHIZZZZ! OMG!

Thursday, July 30, 2009

Well, my morning was very chaotic I should say! First all went well yesterday with the delivery of my new little nephew Bryson Christopher Roland. He is so sweet. He weighed in at 8.3 oz and was 20 1/4 in long. He was born yesterday at 8:37 am. Mommy Kimberly and Big Sister Kaydee are in love. After I got off work yesterday, I picked up the kiddo's, some happy meals and headed to Cleburne to check out the new baby! Tanner kept kissing him and Colton must have thought he was the Pillsbury Dough Boy, because he kept mushing him in the tummy. It was cute. Colton has been in a mood lately. He has been waking up again in the middle of the night being mischievous.

Last night we got home late and I feel asleep early and Seth got home much later from his softball game. Usually before we go to bed we make the house fort knox so we don't have to worry about Colton getting into everything if he has his midnight wakings......well, Seth forgot. He forgot to lock the fridge and the door to the laundry room that leads to the garage.....BIG mistake. At 4 Colton comes and gets me.....mind you I think he has been up for a while.....and tells me he wants pancakes. I use my guilt trip on Seth (he leaves in a week to go to Minnesota to fish) and ask him to get up with him and "get him started for the day". That means fix him breakfast, get him a chocolate milk, and turn on cartoons. Well, with a grump of course he did it. I hate our mattress, and Tanner's bed is much better, so I grabbed my cell phone to use as my alarm clock and headed to her room. That would have been a great idea if it was not on VIBRATE!!!! Evidently, John and Michelle had been trying to call me because our area was having some very bad storms....I heard the rain and just thought...GREAT SLEEPING WEATHER! Just when I was thinking I was getting the best sleep of my life, Colton comes and wakes me up carrying 2 champagne flutes full of water....I was like what are you doing..... Then I realize he is covered from head to toe with water. I walk out of Tanner's room and look out of the corner of my eye to see that the door to the laundry room is open as well as the door to the garage. I walk to shut the door and notice that the door to the GARAGE is open too. Colton decided to get in my truck get out the umbrella, open the garage through my truck entry, put on his jacket (which I found later on the kitchen floor he evidently took off while he was getting hot dogs and pancakes out of the fridge Seth did not lock) and he put on his shoe and was playing in the driveway in the rainstorm that of course had unbelievable amounts of lightening according to this mornings news! NICE!!!!! At the time of course I was not concerned with that I was trying to play damage control. It was 6:40, I am only running an hour and half behind, I had a picnic of various foods on the living room floor, I had a broken umbrella because my son thinks he is Mary Poppins, and my phone is going off....on vibrate of course. I answer to my sister yelling at me for not answering my PHONE! Yikes! All goes pretty smooth until I wake up Tanner for daycare. I always make her breakfast, prepare her lunch, and prepare her shots and set them on the counter until she is done with breakfast. I started loading up all the cargo I need in the mornings with 2 kids into the truck when Tanners starts running out into the garage screaming. I go to defuse the situation when she informs me that COLTON IS TRYING TO GIVE HER HER SHOTS! All in the day of a life in my world!!!!!

Have I mentioned TGIF! Well, I work Saturday, so I guess I am waiting for TGIS afternoon!

Later!

Hump Day

Wednesday, July 29, 2009

SAY WHAT?????????

Well, today is officially hump day.....in my world that does not mean much because I work on Saturday. I went to a funeral of a friend's father yesterday. It was a wonderful service. It was hard to go. I am not much of a funeral fan. After losing dad and Todd it is just not my thing. It is hard to do the pass of the casket. It brings back too many memories. I was there with associates. I wish Seth would have been able to make it. He is actually doing a job in Mansfield. Maybe lunch will be on the schedule this week! :) I am always up for some good Ying Chinese food!

Tanner got her TV yesterday. She loves it and finally decided she is ready to sleep back in her room. Since she got diagnosed with diabetes, she has been sleeping in ours and that was April 15th! The bad news is that I slept in her room last night! I fell asleep in her bed. We are waiting on getting our new matress from Seth's mom.......Tanner's bed is much more comfortable!

I got a call from my Sister Lori this morning around 5. Her daughter Kim is in labor with her 2nd child. Baby Bryson should be making his first appearance soon. I plan on going and seeing the little guy this evening! I will post pictures tomorrow.

Well, can not stall anymore.....must get ready for work!

Later!

Colton

Well, what can I say about my little man besides that he is awesome! He has made so many advancements this summer! He talks so much, he is potty training well, and he is such a little character. He is really letting his personality shine through. With that being said......he still does Colton's stunts though! I have decided to just take a picture of whatever mess he makes, because at the time it is not funny, but later it always seems to be. By the time I find my camera and take the photos, I am already relaxing. I have included a couple pictures of stunts this month. Photo one is him is pouring all my splenda for my coffee into a strainer. This is my first of the new photo process. Seth was so confused when I said "wait....let me get the camera!" The next was when I was looking for him ready to walk out the door for work and he had put all my hair conditioner in his hair. He had to be thrown in the shower for that one and I was late! The next one was really sweet of him. He decided to make mommy her coffee before he woke me up. Mind you it was 4 am and I hear water running and what to my amazement is he doing but putting water in the coffee pot to brew yet my creamer and splenda (he could not get the coffee container open!) I walk in and he says "Mommy...coffee!" Gotta love the little man though! He definitely keeps me on my toes!

Staycation 2009

Tanner's birthday movie trip to see Ice Age 3 in 3d. check out the 3d glasess!

Seth and I at Bud and Cindy Johnson's 50th wedding party!

Tanner at daddy's softball game and enjoying a sugar free snow cone!

Colton and Tanner at the park by the softball fields.

Tanner showing off her first sun burn!
What a wonderful staycation. It started off on Friday at 5pm! Grammy came to babysit and we went to dinner with friends and then went and dropped anchor in the lake and drank some beer and hung out in the water! Saturday, we had another babysitter and we went to Kevin's parents 50th wedding anniversary party. It was a great time. They had an Elvis impersonator. It was hilarious. Kevin put me in charge of his camera and I took 302 pictures.....never give a drunk woman a camera and say have fun!!! Sunday Tanner and I went to a wedding shower for Sara and then came home and we relaxed. Two late nights with babysitters made us TIRED! On Monday, was Tanner's 3rd birthday. We went to Chickfilet for lunch and then to see Ice Age 3 in 3D. Colton crashed during the previews. Tanner did well, got a little restless though. That evening we met up with Mike and Staci to have dinner at Double Dave's Pizza in Mansfield. The kiddos had a blast. Tanner made a little boyfriend, and Colton was a rock star at air hockey!! We adults enjoyed the beer so much we decided to come back to the house and have a few more. The girls had not planned to come over so they did not have their suits, but who cares....they are 2 & 3 so they did a little skinny dipping! They were so funny......Colton was sleeping! The next morning we got up and went to Hawaiian Falls in Mansfield. It was so awesome! the kiddos loved it so much that next year we are going to get season passes! Tanner was your typical dare devil! Wednesday, the kiddos hung out with their cousin Elizabeth all day. We did a little shopping and then finished the evening at the ball park with dad watching his game. Colton actually really enjoyed watching. He mimicked everything the guys did on the field....good and bad! Tanner enjoyed her first snow cone. They had sugar free ones! We hung out at the park and had some beers then headed home. I got a call from my friend from work that evening delivering bad news about his parents. His dad and mom were in a motorcycle accident on vacation in SD and his dad was killed and his mother was in critical condition. His mom is stable now, but has several surgeries ahead of her. I have been doing a lot of praying for is family. We are attending the funeral tomorrow. Thursday was pretty low key. We had to start getting things ready for Tanner's birthday bash on Saturday. My friend Cathleen came over and shared some wine and we worked on a couple things. Had a great visit! The kids and I went and picked up my Mom on Friday to do all the shopping for the groceries for the party. Mom came back and spent the night and Cathleen came back and helped with the prep of all the food. What a doll!!! Mom and I had some drinks and watched Hitch. It was fun. Seth went and did the guy thing out at the lake with the guys. Saturday was Tanner's birthday party. It went off without a hitch! It was so much fun. Tanner was such a rockstar on the water slide. After the kiddos went to bed us girls enjoyed hanging out in the kiddy pools and having some drinks! Sunday we went to Kole's 1st birthday party and got to swim in a REAL pool. Colton was such a little frog! He loved it and Tanner was jumping off of the diving board! Now it is Monday.....back to the real world!!!! Gotta love it!

One more day until vacation! I am so excited. I am counting down to the minute, second! I am so ready to get a break from work! I am ready for the economy to get better. Talk about drama! People are just crazy! I am planning a stay vacation! We are trying to figure out things to do in the Dallas area. We are going to go to a water park, Dallas aquarium, the movies, the park, spending time with friends and hanging in their pools! Sucks to have a pool the size of a bathtub!!! Colton is officially potty trained so that marks one thing off of my list to do during vacation. I am off today Thursday and have to work one more day, too bad! Coorslights are flowing! I have had a wonderful day! I shoped for 8 hrs straight. Bought a new dress, 2 pairs of flip flops, earrings, stuff for the girls bday and had lunch alone! What a day!!!! Next week is all about the family. Today was about me! Fun times. Chow until next time!
